"Cause I saw the end before we'd begun/ Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won"

Hour Two of the Survivor Finale:

MFBB says it is a miracle he is still in the game with three FFs. They all congratulate each other on being in the final four (MFBB jokes the final "foa" and we should get married since I made the same joke in my last post!) and high fives all around. Except Mick totally doesn't see Russell hold up his hand and turns away and Russ just awkwardly stands there. LOL. I love it. Even if it was unintentional and that has happened to me like a million times.

MFBB says his fate is in his hands and he knows the only way he is making it to the end is if he wins immunity again. By the way, I hate this final three business. I sat out a few seasons of Survivor so I missed the introduction of exile island, hidden immunity idols, and this final three thing. I do not care for a F3 most of all, that's not the core of Survivor. The best part is watching the jury deciding between two people as to who deserves a million dollars. Plus I like to see some cutthroat comments about the other at tribal. Bring it on!

MFBB and Russ are talking and Russ asks MFBB if he thinks he could beat him. MFBB is a nicer person than me who would have replied "Does a bear poop in the woods?" and simply says "I don't know. It would be pretty close." Russ claims the three who deserve it should be at the end. MFBB tries some reverse psychology by saying he would rather be sitting next to someone who might beat him as opposed to someone he could easily win against. Russ promises the two of them will be in the final three. I know he is talking crap but I sort of hope it's true just to see MFBB live another day. Russ strikes up another deal because he hasn't made one with MFBB yet and they promise to take each other to the final 3. At least Russ admits he has a deal with every one (including the producers apparently) and he is just trying to have an insurance policy in the event MFBB wins immunity. Russ says he is in the top 3 no matter what, and he is pretty much promised the million at this point.

Treemail! They will do the lame journey burning the torches all of the fallen players since they are the reason the four are standing where they are. It's always my least favorite part of the entire season. Remember in season three when they had to have goat blood smeared on their faces? Ahhh.. season three... Ethan: One of the few true deserving Survivors. Montage of people we barely remember since it was so long ago they got kicked off and well, this was The Russell Show and we saw very little of other players: First Gone Marisa, Evacuated Mike, New England Betsy, Racist Ben, Loudmouth Yasmin, Puking Ashley, Evacuated Russell, Boring Liz, Blindsided/Clotheslined Erik, Invisible Kelly, Skanky Laura, Plaid John, Safety Davey, Playboy Wannabe Monica, The Sham and I don't get a damn (Now that's how you rhyme!), and Jaison the whiner. Ahhhh memories. And I really don't miss any of them. Well except John. I had high hopes for John. And he cleans up nice to boot.

FINAL Immunity challenge: Each player must balance a figurine on the end of a pole. At regular intervals they will add another one-foot section of the pole making it harder to control and balance. If your figurine drops, you're out. Last one standing, wins!

I bet these challenges are so boring. Just sitting there listening to Jeff narrate and the birds chirping in the background. There is no dramatic music playing, no tribal men screaming, no drums beating. They should totally bring a boombox and set that up cause I guarantee the players would play better if the music got all dramatic when they were about to drop the figurine but the music would swell and then they would regain composure and feel awesome inside. Just something to think about producers...

Surprisingly Mick is out first, followed quickly by Natalie. Russ and MFBB's poles are at six feet. I feel like Russ should be struggling since his neck is craning up way more than MFBB due to his short stature. There is some wind and both are trying to adjust accordingly. I won't lie, I watched this with my mom and sisters and we all were nervous wrecks. It was so suspenseful! Props to editors for making a seemingly boring challenge into a real nailbiter.

The two must add another part of the pole and MFBB does so almost immediately. Russ takes his time and has the pole upside down and only has ten seconds to fix his mistake. Will he run out of time?! No, he gets it. Darn. Lots of swaying and wobbling by MFBB. The music swells and MFBB recovers! Russ is shaking. And the music gets intense and LOST-like. And he recovers but MFBB's falls down*! Noooooooooooooooooooooo! Russ wins immunity. Booooooo! Mick immediately smirks. You went out first bucko, stop gloating. Russ and Nat hug MFBB and Jeff places the necklace around Russ's neck and I want to cry.

* A recap I read said that Russell's hand is above the white line before MFBB's fall so he should have been DQd. I looked on my DVR and I definitely see what the person is talking about but I'm not sure if it is Russ's arm or simply part of the course lining up at a weird angle. I almost hope it's the latter so that MFBB wasn't cheated out of immunity (and consequently a million buckaroos)

Back at camp, MFBB knows he is gone but is proud to have made it this far. He gets emotional and says it has been an awesome experience. He ponders if Russ will stay true to his word. Russ asks Nat and Mick what his chances are of winning a million now since MFBB is no longer an issue. Natalie says he is going to win. And Mick says he has a good chance. You can actually see Mick mentally kicking himself for not voting this arrogant a-hole out when he had the chance.

Russ says MFBB is the kind of guy he wished he was when he was his age and he wants his daughters to meet someone like him one day (could I fit more male pronouns in one sentence?). And he wonders if he should honor his promise to MFBB since he is such a nice guy. But he also has a deal with Mick so... conundrum. Mick gets all paranoid about maybe being voted out since Russ if "off getting firewood" which he has never done in 39 days. Natalie says he is the most paranoid person she has ever met. She tries to convince him he is sitting pretty.

Russ and MFBB are talking and we get the emotional music going in the background. He tells MFBB nice things and almost seems like he is a little choked up. I hope Russ is being real and not faking otherwise he is a huge jerkoff. Russ says maybe he can vote for Mick and then it will be a tie prompting a fire building challenge at Tribal. I'd kind of like to see MFBB and Mick battle it out. But alas I think it's false hope and MFBB seems to realize this as well. Russ thinks if he tries to keep MFBB around maybe the jury will toss a few votes his way for doing something respectable and noble. For the first time ever.

TC: Jury enters. Jaison doesn't even look like the same person. There is some talk about the final challenge and how Russ played the hardest he ever has. MFBB knew it was all or nothing. Mick thinks that MFBB is gone but Russ (because he is truly the producers' puppet) alludes to maybe having the final three be the most deserving players and that definitely includes MFBB. MFBB throws a hail mary by saying keeping him in the game would show a lot to the jury and maybe get Russ a few more votes for not taking the easy way out.

Voting time and we see Mick and Natalie vote MFBB. The votes are read and we see one for Mick and three for MFBB and he is eliminated from the game. I weep into my hands and play the preview clip of James Blunt's "Goodbye My Lover" on repeat. "I don't want to buy it. I just want a taste of it." Brett is very gracious in his exit and I love him a little bit more. Okay, a lot more.

And we have our final three: Mick, Natalie, and Russell. Dun dun dunnnnnnnn....

I will now put the final TC part in another post since it will be long and therefore you probably already need a break from all these words. :) So it's already broken up for you! Enjoy! :)
